Rain Boots
My new must have item,. A few months ago, i bought a pair of rain boots, because I didn't want to get my work tennis shoes wet from rain, so I bought a pair, Oh and I bought a pair for each of my girlies too! Of course rain in West Texas doesn't come very often, I believe i wore them once while walking Riley after a small drizzle. So my rain boots sat in my room for a while. Now with warm weather and lots of yard work that I have been doing, I've used my "rain boots" every time I go to work in my yard. They have been my best buy of the year.

My rain boots have been such a good item to have, they can get wet, get muddy, get rinsed, and then get washed off with the hose. I walk on wet grass, muddy grass, and in the alley. The only set-back is they turn my white socks black, need to set aside socks just for my Rain Boots!

I love my rain boots, don't be surprised if you get a pair from me!

Day at the Rockhounds ballpark: Ms. Brooklyn was to say the "Pledge of Allegiance" and sing "God Bless America" at the ballpark. She did an awesome job and as usual "as cute as can be". After the performance, it started to rain, then rain hard to the point the game was held up until it stopped the sun came out. In the meantime we snuggled together, it got a little chilly out there, especially if your wet. The the sun came out and we had a great afternoon.

It poured!

And Poured

Then the sun came out and we played!

There is something to be said about granny doing anything for her girlie's,
Running!
Who can find a puddle of water?

We love our kids, but the grand babies are totally something else that I can't explain,
Total Bliss!

I read something recently that I totally loved, it said;
"My grand kids are geniuses, they think I'm Perfect!"

The boys had a good time also.

The afternoon turned out to be a great day!

FAMILY
It doesn't get better than this!
My kids are the center of my life, they have all done well,
and I am very proud of all of them.
I can't believe how grown they are now. Time has really flown by, yet there are many good memories. I love every bit of them, they are all so different, with their own personalities, their own kind of wonderful....How blessed I have been to be their mother. I pray that they will always live the gospel, and that they will be blessed in all their endeavors.

And these are the the joys of my life, look forward to seeing more of them.

A Big accomplishment for Brendan: This weekend we went to New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) for Brendan's graduation and commissioning to the military. He received his rank as 2nd lieutenant and his associates degree in Arts. Those who know him, know how hard life was for him in the beginning, with multiple illnesses and surgeries. Doctors said he would be physically and mentally delayed, Brendan did struggled in school socially, didn't have many friends, but Brendan has always been optimistic about his life and what he wants to do. Brendan has been accepted to Texas Tech in Lubbock this fall, and wants to major in journalism. I and his brothers, sisters, family and friends are so very proud of him. We love you Brendan! Keep up the good work.

It was cold and drizzily, forget my bad hair day, It was Brendan's Day!

The boys and I waiting for Paul at the Roswell airport

Paul home from Leadership Training and Airborne School, we are all also very proud of him and his accomplishments in the military, I do worry about his less than safe activities, but he loves it and his wife supports him totally. Be Safe Paul!

Paul earns his wings

See his battle scar when his parachute didn't open, he had to pull his reserve parachute and ended with getting his head and neck tangled....

Christina was very happy to see her husband after being gone 6 months.

These brothers have left a good examples for their younger brothers.

Blue Bonnets in Fredericksburg Texas, 2009

Happy Birthday Austin
It's Austin' s birthday and he wanted a trip to Fredericksburg, Texas for the day. He said he wanted to go to a shop that had all the jelllies and dips. Thought it was a little strange, but ok, so here we are in Fredericksburg, Texas

This is Rustlin Robs, wall to wall jellies, jams, hot sauce, dips, pasta sauces, marinades for grillin, you name it, they got it.

Austin picked Cherry Cobbler, then changed it to Pumkin Butter before we left!

HGTV Curb Appeal......

I've decided that HGTV has made redecorating, updating, landscaping and design on a dime look way too easy, I'm still working on my yard and it still looks like I have a long way to go. After working in the yard, I'm sore, hot, beat, sweaty and have I mentioned how dirty I get. HGTV finishes projects in a day, I have help, two teenage boys.....wait.... maybe that's my problem.

My boys are growing up!
The boys are getting to the age that they are asking a lot of questions about girls, here is an example from both of them. I don't always have the right answer, but I hope somehow that I am pointing them in the right direction. Any suggestions, please leave a comment for me.

Topher who is 15, turns 16 in September (and can't wait) so he can drive and go out with girls.

Topher: Mom how can I be a womanizer?
Me: Gulp! describe "womanizer"
Topher: Someone who has girls around them all the time.
Me: Well, you might want to start off with having one girl around you first, at your age, your nerves get out of wack! and don't know their left from their right, besides girls are a lot of work and can cause you plenty of grief.
Topher: My nerves are fine!
Me: Yea, ok, well lets start with your baggy pants, their too big on you.
Topher: I like my pants baggy!
Me: (thinking) ok, were not going to get very far on this topic. Hey Topher, what do you want for dinner?
Topher: I don't know, what do you want?
Me: Pizza
Topher: Ok!

Austin who is 13, turn 14 in a few days asked me:

Austin: Mom, why is it that when I want to talk to girls, my ears burn, my face gets hot and I cant get words out of my mouth right.
Me: Well Austin, that's normal, when boys start talking to girls in a more serious way, it's ok, most boys and sometimes men have the same problem at sometime or another.....
Austin: Well, I don't like it!
Me: (big smile on my face) I'ts ok, it will get better, promise

The Fruits of Our Labor...
Last weekend during our yard work, we were cutting off some of the Wisteria bush off the roof, (since I'm getting a new roof) and during this time, this is what we found on the lattice.
Aren't they the sweetest creatures!
We left them right where we found them, we'll check in with them soon.
